Easter Week (Semana Santa)

Easter Week (Semana Santa)
15 Mar

In Spain Easter Week is celebrated much more than most European countries. During the whole of Semana Santa, literally translated as Holy Week, street processions are organised in most Spanish cities, towns and villages from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. Those in the parade are usually covered from head to toe by long robes and wear conical shaped hats. They carry statues of saints around on floats or wooden platforms and are usually accompanied by a band.
