Bye Bye Winter Blues

We have already discussed that Spains tourism industry is hitting record breaking heights, as it remains a favourite with visitors from around the globe, but it is becoming more and more apparent that those who have holidayed here are now often on a return trip home having purchased their very own Spanish property.

First of all some figures: Latest data released by Kyero.com, the Spanish property portal, has highlighted the fact that the increase in tourists has contributed to house sales.

With more Tourists now opting to purchase here, kyero predict that house sales will rise this year, by a sizeable 11%, compared to last year. Also, according to the Property Registrars, an impressive 17.5% of property bought in Spain was by foreign investors during the first half of 2016, showing that the demand for Spanish property from overseas buyers is flourishing. The market share of foreign buyers in the second quarter was 13.4%, almost a record high, with British buyers being the largest group with 20% of the foreign buyer market.

So we are expecting tourist figures and house purchases to thrive simultaneously and we can confirm this optimism is shared by the Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey España, a leading Spanish home builder.He says “As a holiday destination Spain is more popular than ever and an increasing number of those visiting are falling in love with the country and looking to acquire a more permanent position there.For the majority of European second home buyers, Spain is considered a short-haul destination and therefore an ideal location for a holiday property"
