It´s Christmas!
“It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…………….."
Mid December already and Christmas is nearly upon us, the dazzling lights are up across the streets, the trees are taking pride of place in shops and homes.
Now to see what things are happening in and around the area, to add to those festivities.
Zenia Boulevard, located off the AP7, in the Orihuela Costa, is doing us proud again.
With stunning Christmas decorations and lights adorning the commercial centre, they have Father Christmas making daily appearances in his small house, ready to meet the children on the run up to Christmas. This is followed by the Three Wise Men who visit the Spanish children after Christmas on the day of the three kings. They have the illuminating Zenia Eye, a big wheel, take a trip day or night in one of the seated cages and take in the spectacular coastal views. On the stage located opposite the Christmas tree at the heart of the centre, they have entertainment of dancing and singing for young and old and a programmed entertainment schedule.
Many restaurants in the surrounding areas are doing Christmas Fayre menus, offering three course lunches and dinners at great prices, to encourage those festive get togethers with family and friends.
A little further afield in Alicante, they have some exciting things to see and do.
They have a Santa Grotto, where it will snow every day, a temporary ice rink, a 35 metre toboggan run, and these all set up at key places in the city.
Over the whole of the Christmas period there will be stalls for a Christmas Market, following the Spanish hours of around 10.00 to 15.00 and 17.00 to 23.00. As well as live music, activities and games for the children and a living nativity complete with some of the animals that shared the stable with Mary and Joseph.
So if you fancy a few hours out, day or night, pop along to join in with the Christmas celebrations, whatever the time of year, the area offers something for everyone.
