Events this weekend

Following with the Christmas theme from last week this Friday at 17.00 hrs in the Plaza de la Constitucion in Torrevieja, the town hall is organising a Christmas Carol Concert.

It will include many traditional English carols and song sheets will be provided. The Phoenix International Concert Band will be playing and will be joined by various local choir groups.

Last year the event proved very popular with more than 3´000 people attending, so if you are interested best to arrive early.

In Pilar de La Horadada that same evening at 9.30pm, they will be hosting the 11^th Sports Gala.

The event is being held in the Municipal Tent enclosure in the Parque Raimundo Benedicto, near to the Municipal Sports Centre.

At the Gala there will be various dance performances put on for your enjoyment, admission is free until full capacity is reached.

In the Gala itself the clubs of the municipality have all voted the finalists to decide the winners by a technical jury.

Special mentions will be made to athletes and companies in the sports sector that contribute to making Pilar De La Horadada a place of reference in the world of sports.

At the event hundreds of athletes will join the most outstanding coaches, schools and clubs of the town where a specialized jury will be in charge of voting and deciding which of the nominees of the seven categories will be the winner.

So if you are looking for a bit of music and a sing along this weekend head to Torrevieja, if Sport is your thing and you have interest on what is on offer in the area pop along to the Gala in Pilar.
