New Bus Route for the Orihuela Costa

To provide a better bus network in the municipality, a new bus route has been agreed between the Councilor for Urban Transport and Jose Pedro Garcia of Autocares Costa Azul.

The new service will be provided throughout the year, except August, from the Orihuela Costa to the city centre of Orihuela.The schedule from the Costas is 7am, 1pm and 7pm with returns from the city at 9.30am, 3.25pm and 8.55pm. Stops are to be from Zenia Boulevard, Orihuela Costa Town Hall, Torrievieja Hospital, Entrenaranjos and Orihuela City bus station.

The councilor explained that the cost of tickets will be the minimum rate established by the Department of Transport. The agreement is expected to last one year.

The bus routes already established across the Orihuela Costa, between Zenia Boulevard and Aquamarina-health centre and Torrevieja hospital will continue.

José Pedro García commented its introduction is “to promote urban mobility and sustainability, optimizing the resources that are available through the reorganization of the routes, avoiding the problem of buses circulating with hardly any passengers.
